Pete's Clipboard Part 8
Good Morning, Good Day or Good Evening....
We took on the
Edgeworth Eagles on what most thought would be a boggy
pitch. However the ground was
in super condition which would allow both sides to get the ball down and produce
some good footy. Suspension to Stasi saw
a backline re-shuffle with Cameron Sullini coming back in at left
back. A starting debut was
also given to young Alex Palozzi.
The first half was a
well balanced affair with both sides enjoying good levels of possession however
not too many scoring chances were created from either
side. I felt as the half wore
on we started to get on top ever so slightly however the half finished as it
started at 0-0.
15 minutes into the
second period and we went 1 nil down due to a penalty and the set back was
compounded further with the send off of David
Baillie. To the boys credit we
got back into the match straight away after Ben Martin converted a penalty
kick. The feeling and the
attitudes of the guys was fantastic at this point as we looked like going on
with it albeit with the 10 men. However hearts were
broken when Edgeworth took the lead with little over 5 to
go. Again to the boy’s
credit they fought again and almost got something out of the match late creating
a few chances.
At stages we have seen
the level of enthusiasm and application within this group that is needed to go
on and be there at the business end of the season. These characteristics
are needed for longer periods coupled with a higher level of discipline for our
goals to be achieved. I am absolutely certain
this is can happen.
Cheers
