RESULTS- Magic Vs Weston Workers
RESULTS- Magic Vs Weston Workers

Pete's Clipboard Part 10

Good Morning, Good Day or Good Evening

We travelled to Weston in what was always going to be a difficult journey due to the fact that Weston recently experienced a huge defeat to Hamilton Olympic 8 -1 and under no circumstances was Weston ever to going to let this happen again. As always no matter the circumstances it has always been a difficult challenge whenever playing or travelling to Weston.

The first half was a very even affair with both sides enjoying good levels of possession however not too many scoring chances were created from either side and at half time finishing at 0-0. The second half we saw a different Magic team mainly due to a change in structure (formation) saw us start to dominate more possession and create far more goal scoring opportunities, and were eventually rewarded with a penalty which Ben Martin converted confidently who continues to work tirelessly every week. We continued to pressure the Weston defence with several clear goal scoring opportunities but unfortunately we were unable to convert and leaving many players disillusioned.

As Weston always do they continued to battle with there never say die attitude and were eventually reward with an excellent goal by Jason Cowburn to even things up. As the game came closer to the end the missed opportunities were starting to haunt us and an uncharacteristic error from the inform keeper of the competition Scott Carter missed a perfectly timed cross which sore Weston reward with another goal to take the lead 2-1.

This game clearly came down to not finishing of our chances and understanding we must play out the full 90 minutes no matter who we play in this competition. This can be another one the boys can learn from.

Cheers

Guinno
