On the 19th to 21st of May the Combined High School NSW State
Championships were held at Seymour Shaw Stadium , Miranda. Broadmeadow
Magic was well represented in the Hunter Team coached by James Pascoe.
These players included Dylan Atkins and Cameron Aspinal from Youth
Grade and Joshua Small and Daniel Laiman from the Under 23's.
On
the first day of football, Hunter was drawn against Sydney East.
Unfortunately they were defeated 1 goal to nil to Sydney East,who would
eventually go on to play in the final. Later that afternoon Hunter had
to play their second game of the tournament against North West and beat
them 4 goals to nil.
On the second day of the tournament Hunter
played Sydney South West in the morning and was defeated 1 goal to nil.
In the afternoon game Hunter fought out a 1-1 draw with South Coast to
secure a spot in the 5th and 6th play of match on game day 3. In the
play off game Hunter defeated North Coast 2 goals to nil to finish a
respectable 5th in the 10 team championship.
In the final match Sydney East battled with Sydney South West, with the Westy's taking the Championship title 1 goal to nil.
All
was not lost for Hunter and Magic with Daniel Laiman being Selected in
the CHS Boys First Team Squad, and Joshua Small being selected in the
CHS boys Second Squad. Well done Boys!!!
