Broadeadow Magic v Azzurri FC Match Report
Broadeadow Magic v Azzurri FC Match Report

First Grade

Magic coming off two draws in the competition facing a young Azzurri side,
with a win and a loss, was the setting for a great contest. Azzurri beat
Magic in the Presidents Cup which should have spurred the Magic side into a
fiercely fought battle. Once again the Azzurri side took control and
dominated the first half with their energetic play and scored the crucial
goal that most spectators at the ground were expecting. The experienced
Magic side had no answer to their young opponents and were lucky to be only
one goal down going into half time. The second half saw a more determined
Magic side who lifted after their half time break seeing them create some
good scoring chances one of which came off the upright. Overall it was
really a game of two halves with Magic playing much better in the second
half. On first half performances Azzurri deserved their lead but Magic
evened it up in the second half but the strong and organised Azzurri
defence held tight to see us lose our first game of the season. Coach
Damien Smith now has some room to move with his playing staff so expect to
see some changes in our starting lineup against Olympic.
