Broadmeadow Magic v Adamstown Rosebuds Match Report
Broadmeadow Magic v Adamstown Rosebuds Match Report

Second last place as we went into the game with Adamstown who were bottom of the table. To lose would mean bottom for Magic so we had everything to play for. Adamstown have a new coach in Bob Mountford so there would be plenty of motivation for Adamstown to knock us over.

Magic controlled the game from the start with some fluid movement of the ball. We created chance after chance only to see them denied by either poor finishing or good saves by Cartz in between the Adamstown goals. This was the continuing theme most of the first half. We went to the break at 0-0.

Second half was more of the same with many good scoring chances missed. It was a set play that gave Magic the breakthrough. John Bennis pounced on a well placed freekick that the keeper could only parry into JB’s path.

Our three defenders were standouts on the day not allowing Adamstown any real scoring chances by playing with great team work and patience.

The game ended at 1-0 with Magic given some breathing space to now further improve in front of goal before our next clash against Edgeworth
