Reserve Grade Wins Grand Final
Reserve Grade Wins Grand Final

Reserve Grade Report

Broadmeadow Magic won the Reserve Grade Grand Final with a hard fought 1-0 win over Hamilton Olympic. A scrambling goal midway through the first half was enough for the Magic boys although their dominance was evident through the whole game.

Magic played smart finals football across the whole park  and never let the fancied Olympic side into the game, in fact the score could easily have been greater. Coach Chris Turner was able to fashion a game plan which the team executed perfectly, starving Olympic of room and time.

The early signs were good for Magic with a shot off the cross bar in the first minute and territory favouring Magic. The boys tackling was a feature as they took the initiative on the 50\50 balls and used possession to put Olympics defence under huge pressure. The pressure never let up until the
final whistle.

Every player had a man of the match performance. This team scrambled to make the semis , often the results did not reflect the quality of their play, but once the semis started the Magic momentum was unstoppable.

Thank you to Chris Turner for his report and excellant coaching for 2007.  All the best to Chris and his family.
